“Tame Your Thoughts: Three Tools to Renew Your Mind
and Transform Your Life” By: Max Lucado

Max Lucado is a prominent American author, minister, and speaker known for his bestselling Christian inspirational books. With more than 150 million products in print, he has been dubbed “America’s Pastor” by Christianity Today.

What:

In Tame Your Thoughts, Max explores three key thought-management tools and then applies them to the most common thought problems: worry, guilt, anxiety, and other types of mental quicksand that threaten to trap us. God loves us too much to let us lead a life marked by poor thinking. He made our brains; he can retrain our brains. God has not left us alone in this battle of the mind.

Stuck in your head? Hounded by regrets? Weighed down by worry? Change is possible! The thoughts that have characterized your past need not characterize the rest of your life.

Take God at his word. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7 nkjv, emphasis added). With God as their helper, you will discover a new way of thinking and a better way of living. A new person will begin to emerge.

NORTHEAST IN ANAHEIM: WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

“In 2014, NorthEast of the Well was given the opportunity to provide a weekly Bible Study for a women’s county program in Anaheim for women who have children and/or were pregnant. These women were seeking to rebuild their lives from the destructive pattern of addiction, and NorthEast of the Well came alongside these ladies weekly to encourage them in their journey towards recovery. It was our desire to provide a strong foundation for a life of purpose, through belief in Jesus Christ.

In March 2016, we launched Monday night Community Gatherings at First Congregational Church of Anaheim. Multiple local programs/safe houses attend, to benefit from the support and encouragement of a larger community of faith.

Men, women and children along with local churches, volunteers and other program alumni join in together on Monday nights in Anaheim to worship as one body, spurring one another on to God’s promises of NEW LIFE. Join us this Monday!” — www.northeastofthewell.org

Soon, we expanded our outreach into other Safe Houses throughout Anaheim, following the same small group model, each offering biblical guidance and encouragement. This setting continues to be ideal to naturally build relationships, ask real questions and have intimate discussion.

Women’s Fellowship Group

Be sure to check the Calendar for changes to regularly scheduled meetings.

Women from the church gather for a luncheon every other month. Each meeting has a slightly different focus. Sometimes the luncheon includes a project for a local mission or for our church family.  Lunches include devotional time where each woman can enjoy some time to step away from the normal routine of life and reflect on her relationship with God.  Life is better with community, so a large purpose of these lunches is to allow time to get to know each other and enjoy fellowship around the table.  It is a gift to laugh, pray, share and eat with one another.  We would love to see you there!

Lunches are held either at a local home or in the church hall.  Sign up for our weekly e-news or email the church office at fccaoffice@gmail.com to receive regular updates!
