Murphy’s Flaw @ McKenzie Hall

Murphy’s Flaw has been a central part of concerts, festivals, weddings, funerals and quilting bees since its inception in 2005. Though well-stocked with stellar musicians from classical, jazz, folk and country genres, the Flaw refuses to take itself too seriously, avoiding like the plague the labels “bluegrass,” “entertaining,” and “respectable.” Many in the bluegrass/Americana establishment have grown contemptuous of the Flaw’s attitude. Some of these people are actually IN the band, which makes for highly dramatic practices. Nonetheless, the Flaw puts together some remarkable picking and singing, blending everything from mountain music to Bob Dylan and Rolling Stones, Beatles and Patsy Cline and due respect is paid to each. see www.reverbnation.com/murphysflaw
